Another type that sits on top of an existing car mat is the one termed universal absorbent. This is going to be quite a lightweight mat because it is produced from polyethylene and comes with a cloth cover.

This provides you with an extra to put on top of your existing one and this one is very beneficial if you are likely to be in either a very wet climate or somewhere where there is likely to be water lying on the ground. This universal absorbent class of car floor mats is going to soak up any wetness very efficiently.
